Geometry Extra Credit for Spring Break: Mathematician “Baseball” Card
You can earn up to 5 extra credit points toward your homework score by completing the following project over Spring Break. Do some research on a mathematician you have heard mentioned and about whom you would like to know more. Similar to what you would find on a baseball card about your favorite player, create a card identifying this mathematician. Some things you may want to include:
- Front – name, picture, what he/she is famous for (ex. Euclid – “Father of Geometry”)
- Back – biographical information (ex. when and where did they live, what did they study), important mathematical findings
Your projects will be assessed based on creativity, effort, and a demonstration of your learning. I expect that these will be completed over break, so the quality of your work should reflect this. Again, this is a time to be creative in how you think about math, so have fun and enjoy your break!
